MECHANICVILLE - Barbara F. Ciulla, 87, of West St, Riverside, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Wesley Health Care Center after a short illness. Born in Waterford on December 16, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Olga Golden Nash and wife of 44 years to the late Isaac "Ike" Ciulla who died in 1996.
A homemaker most of her life, Barb worked as a seamstress for the former Standard Manufacturing in her younger years. She was a longtime member and former 4 year president of the Henry F. Lefko American Legion Post 1644 Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed being in her kitchen cooking and baking, especially around the holidays. More than anything, Barb enjoyed the company of her family and was a treasured role model for her 3 grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Ike, she was predeceased by her siblings John Nash, Donna Agan, Honore Kern and Dorothy Poirier.
Survivors include her daughters and husbands, Debra and Keith Micklas of Mechanicville, Patricia and Mark DeCota of Stillwater, cherished grandchildren Erin Micklas, Ryan and Clare DeCota, her sister JoAnn(Tom) Carabis, dear friend Marion McGowan, and several nieces and nephews. Barb's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Gabby at the Wesley Community for her kind and compassionate assistance with the virtual visits between Barb and her family.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial alongside her husband in Hudson View Cemetery. During this extremely difficult time, we strongly encourage friends and family to visit to share condolences, photos you may have and memories of Barbara you have, with her family.
Those wishing to remember Barb in a special way are asked to make contributions in her memory to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of NENY, 950 New Loudon Rd #330, Latham, NY 12110.

Debbie and family; on behalf of your many friends at DSS/OTDA, please know you are in our thoughts during this time. Through all those many years, we were like a big family, so we certainly feel your loss. Take care of yourself, and hang on tightly to all your beautiful memories of your mom.

Debbie and Patty: I was so sorry to learn of your Moms passing. Having grown up on "The Island", we were all like one big family and Barb was an important member of the "Frog Island" family. I will always remember her at the annual Fireman's picnic working so hard in the kitchen with the rest of our Moms. Until recently, my husband and I would stop to say hello to Barb on our daily walks around "The Island". Our neighborhood has lost another great friend.

My deepest condolences
Kathy Lilac
