Born in Albany on January 23, 1967, son of the late Jean Wolff and grandson of the late Albert and Bertha Smodell Wolff, he was a graduate of Stillwater High School and Johnson and Wales University where he earned a BA in Culinary Arts.
Dave owned and operated Family Fun Amusements for over 25 years, entertaining and feeding local communities at a wide variety of events including family days, community events and fairs. He also worked at his family's Wolff's Diner in Stillwater when he was a young man.
A big man with a gentle nature, Dave loved Disney and the trips he took there with his long term companion, Diane Staples and her daughter Sharon Gabriel, he loved "Grumpy", was a known practical jokester with a great sense of humor, and was an animal lover. He especially loved his dogs Bella and Daisy. A talented chef, he catered for many events for family and friends, enjoyed spending time in his garden and canning the crops he grew.
