Obituary for David A. Wolff

STILLWATER - David A. Wolff, 53, of County Road 76, died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Albany on January 23, 1967, son of the late Jean Wolff and grandson of the late Albert and Bertha Smodell Wolff, he was a graduate of Stillwater High School and Johnson and Wales University where he earned a BA in Culinary Arts.
Dave owned and operated Family Fun Amusements for over 25 years, entertaining and feeding local communities at a wide variety of events including family days, community events and fairs. He also worked at his family's Wolff's Diner in Stillwater when he was a young man.
A big man with a gentle nature, Dave loved Disney and the trips he took there with his long term companion, Diane Staples and her daughter Sharon Gabriel, he loved "Grumpy", was a known practical jokester with a great sense of humor, and was an animal lover. He especially loved his dogs Bella and Daisy. A talented chef, he catered for many events for family and friends, enjoyed spending time in his garden and canning the crops he grew.
He was a member of the Fish Creek Rod and Gun Club, Stillwater.
Dave is survived by his loving companion Diane Staples, whom he has shared the past 32 years of his life with, her daughter Sharon and her husband Jeff Gabriel, who he always loved as his own, uncles Albert and George "Roland" Wolff and many cousins and friends.
Due to COVID 19 concerns, private services will be held at the convenience of family. Burial in St. Peter's Cemetery, Stillwater.
