I knew Patricia from back in her St. Rose days and during her early child raising years. She was raising two girls back then in a Schenectady walk up just off upper State Street. She was a patient caring mother who approached the task with laughter and a gentle touch. Time passed swiftly , as it inevitably does , gaining increasing speed as we age, and she re-entered my life when she began bringing communion to my wife every Sunday. Patricia had moved into Voorheesville where I lived , had become an active member of St. Matthew's Church and each Sunday for several years she would stop in, deliver communion, and stay for coffee and the three of us would recall the old days, ponder the ones that were coming and keep tabs on the comings and goings of our offspring. It was always a bright day regardless of what the weather might be when the Sunday morning bell would announce her arrival. I will miss those visits immensely. Her stories of her father and mother, her journeys through Ireland , and her hopes and dreams for her children were always interesting and full of levity and laughter. As our forefathers wished for any one of her ilk
"May God hold her in the hollow of his hand."

As Long As The Sun Shines...The wind blows...The Rain Falls...You will always be a part of those who have loved you...Forever.
Herb and I were so saddened to hear of Patty's passing. We shared such a true and loving friendship while raising our families. With four children each...we had our hands full and was a blessing to help each other out. Our youngest girls Jene' and Alysha were born at the same time. Carolyn and Julie...good friends, Memories of St John the Baptist gatherings, mutual friends, Mike and Herb working on our houses, gatherings at the camp on Mariaville lake. Hosting our farewell dinner when we moved to Florida (Mickey & Minnie...hats with ears and all). Surely your friendship was a gift. You are remembered with love and will not ever be forgotten by all those who have crossed your path in this life. Susie & Herb Rittger

There's an old Irish proverb :
Those we love don't go away
They walk beside us everyday.
Unseen, unheard, but always near.
Still loved, still missed, and forever dear.

Patricia and I , were fellow travelers along the road of life. We attended high school together before venturing down
Madison Avenue two bus stops to the College of Saint Rose, where we both worked our way through the Elementary Education Department. Upon graduation we both began our careers and families, frequently comparing notes and exchanging advice on
parenting and coping with the complexities of becoming full fledged adults. We shared much in common: Our first names, our humble beginnings, our efforts to find our place in the world, and our enjoyment of a good story and laughter. She surely is loved, will be sorely missed, and will be held forever dear. Patricia Gadomski Colfer
