I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Tony Cocozzo. He taught me Earth Science at Mechanicville School ( class of 69) and was my boss, first as Business Manager, then as Superintendent for many years during the time I worked as Food Service Director for Mechanicville City School District. Excellent teacher. Wonderful and supportive boss. “Straight shooter” with integrity. Tough but fair. One of the memories I have of him is a good example of his common sense. While attending a food service conference one time, we had a refreshment break in the hall outside of the auditorium where a buffet table was set up along the wall. After waiting in line for a while, Mr Cocozzo simply went wordlessly up to the table and repositioned it at a 90 degree angle to the wall. Voila! Now there was access for twice as many people to be served in half the time. No fanfare. Simple common sense fix that no one else thought of. It was a pleasure working with him. He will be missed. My condolences to Carol and his family and friends. Take comfort in the good memories. Fondly, Patty DePaul Toombs

My father, Coach Weigle, often shared stories and comments about his athletes. Dudie Cocozzo was high on his list. Words like hard working, dedicated, skilled, tireless, team player and leader come to mind. This was Dudie!
From MHS to an outstanding football career at Union College, Dudie went on to become a teacher, coach and finally superintendent of the MHS school system.
Dudie's accomplishments will long be remembered in the hearts of all the people whose lives he touched. His own was an example of one well lived. My deepest condolence to the Cocozzo family.

I roomed with Dudie's son, Joe, in college. I remember Dudie and Carol taking me out to eat with the family after one of our bowl games when my family was not able to come to the game. I am very sad to hear of his passing but thankful I was able to meet him and know him a little.

My condolences to Coach Cocozzo's family on the loss of a good man. I am proud to have been coached by him in what I think was his first high school football team head coaching job at Stillwater Central as interim coach in the fall of 1961.
