STILLWATER, NY - David E. Yocum, 63, of Atlanta, Ga and former resident of Stillwater, died suddenly Sat, Aug 25th, at a friends home in Niskayuna, NY, while on his yearly summer trip to visit family, friends and the Saratoga Race Track.
Born in St. Joseph, Michigan, August 27, 1954, son of late George and Dolores Yocum, he was a 1972 grad of Shaker High in Colonie, NY, He received a civil engineering degree from HVCC of Troy in 1985.
A self-employed contractor and project manager for several other construction firms in the Atlanta area.
An avid fisherman, also enjoyed golf, boating, was a die-hard Miami Dolphins fan, but was in a heaven named State of Florida for the past 22 years.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years Cindy Davis Yocum, Children: Michael Greaney of Va., Bradley Greaney, David R. Yocum and Heather Beam all of Atlanta, Father-in-law Roger Davis of Greenville, NY, siblings: Diane (Richard Jones) Yocum of Eagle Bridge, NY, Dawn Phelps Yocum of Pleasantville, NY, Denise Yocum of Stillwater, lifelong friend Gordon Nichols of Niskayuna, many nieces and nephews including Joe Chapple, Jason Rymanowski and Amanda Preddice, lastly his canine companion Macintosh.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 7 PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville, NY. Calling hours at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Heart Assoc.
