Constance M. "Connie"  Mellon (Brown)
STILLWATER - Constance “Connie” Mellon, 97 formerly of Major Dickinson Ave, died Monday, July 23rd at Wesley Health Center, Saratoga Springs, after an extended illness.
Born in McKeever, NY June 28, 1921, daughter of the late Peter and Pearl Brown.
After raising her three children, Connie was a longtime meat department employee of the former Central Market and previously the former A & P Market both of Mechanicville.
Years ago, Connie was a member of the local Home Bureau and 4-H clubs.
A faithful member of Stillwater United Church, she was a member of the church’s Women’s Assoc., was a Sunday School teacher and was an attendant for the Church Nursery.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Matthew Mellon in 2000, her son Matthew Peter Mellon in 1968, and siblings Betty Hanehan, Richard and Robert Brown.
Survivors include her daughter Jeannine and Donald Bassani of Ft. Plain, son Thomas and Dawn Mellon of Stillwater, grandchildren Stephen (Lisa) Mellon, Amy (Daryl) Van Vranken, Luke (Celeste) Mellon, Scott (Donna) Bassani and Jodi Bassani. Also great grandchildren MacKenzie, Olivia and Lochlan Mellon, along with nieces, nephews and their families.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 31st at 10 AM at Stillwater United Church, Hudson Ave, Stillwater, with burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to either Stillwater United Church or Stillwater Public Library in memory of Connie Mellon.
