He was a former member of the Arvin Hart Fire Dept and Mechanicville FD’s John Ahearn Rescue Squad. Also a former member of the Mechanicville Golf Club. Ed felt the responsibility of watching over and looking after and providing for his family.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years Annette Galerie Coon, proud sons: Edward (Meaghan Shepard) Coon of Stillwater and Nicholas (Amy) Coon of Amsterdam, cherished grandson Jace Edward Coon, and siblings Janice (Bob) Jesmain, Patricia Gaudette, Nancy (Bruce) Bussing, Sheila (Bill) Ontkush, Carol (Geoff) Brewster and Dan Coon and families, all local residents. Also his mother-in-law Anna Galerie of Mechanicville, brother-in-law Frank and Patty Galerie of Malta and canine buddy Vito.
In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his father-in-law and best friend Frank Galerie.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 4 PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. Visitation will be from 2 PM until the 4 PM service.
