Obituary for Fred D. Batchelder

Fred D.  Batchelder
MECHANICVILLE - Fred D. Batchelder, 62, former longtime resident of Meehan Rd, died Thursday, May 17th at Diamond Hill Nursing Center, after an extended illness.
Born in Troy, Jan 26, 1956 son of the late Allen and Genevieve Ambrosine Batchelder, he was a graduate of Stillwater Central School.
A machinist with Albany Steel Co for years, he late operated TEAM 1 Karts and Parts a business catering to all racing needs.
His love of go-kart racing which he participated throughout the Capital District was a lifetime passion for Fred. He also loved the outdoors and was a NASCAR fan.
His quick wit and mischievous attitude were traits that drew him to many friends.
Survivors include his daughter Lisa and her children, his brother and best friend Allen Batchelder, Jr of Stillwater and Allen’s kids Allen and Amanda along with a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and their families.
Fred’s family thanks Stash and Diane Hatalsky and the Stillwater Elder Care team for their help over time.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 7 PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. Calling hours prior to the service from 5-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Diamond Hill Patients Activity Fund, 100 New Turnpike Rd, Troy, 12182.
