Obituary for Sherryl S. Rydinsky (Sypherd)

Sherryl S. Rydinsky (Sypherd)
MECHANICVILLE - Sherryl S Rydinsky, 73, of Riverside Park South, passed peacefully on Friday, Dec. 29th at Saratoga Hospital, after an extended illness.
Born in Akron, Ohio, Oct. 17,1944, daughter of the late George and Jeanne Sypherd, Sherry earned a BA from Muskingum College, an AAS degree as a Registered Nurse from Adirondack Community College, and a Nurse Practitioner certification from Upstate Medical University of Syracuse. Sherry worked for 25 years with Planned Parenthood Mohawk Hudson.
She was an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregations of Glens Falls and Saratoga Springs; serving as a board member, board president and religious educator.
Sherry served as a board member and President of the Arvilla E. Diver Memorial Library, Schaghticoke, NY and The Friends of the Mechanicville District Public Library.
Sherry was an avid reader, especially of mystery novels. She also enjoyed quilting, crafting and cooking shows.
Surviving relatives include her husband of 51 years, Dr. Allen W. Rydinsky, whom she met at college and married on August 20, 1966. Their children include, Robert Allen Rydinsky of Marietta, Ga., daughter Adelynne Alice (Kenneth) Waldie of Mechanicville, three grandchildren: Hattie Alice Rydinsky, Noah Grayden and Liam George Allen Waldie. Survived by her brother Robert (Diane) Sypherd of Doylestown, Ohio, nieces and nephews.
Sherry wished that there would be no formal funeral or memorial. She would have appreciated knowing people gathered with Kin, Kith & Kids; enjoying a good meal and each other’s company, and that they worked actively on behalf of causes she cared about, including libraries/reading, women choice and community engagement.
Friends may call from 2-4pm on Sunday, January 7th, at the Hilton Garden Inn Troy, 235 Hoosick Street, Troy, NY.
