MALTA - Bonita M. Fabio-Tidd, 67, of Northway Estates, died Thanksgiving night at Saratoga Hospital following a brief illness with her loving family at her side. Born in Troy, August 15, 1950, daughter of the late Camillo and Arline Hosley Fabio, she was a 1968 graduate of Mechanicville High School.
Bonnie was a paralegal and closing coordinator for Homestead Funding in Colonie for many years until retiring in 2010. She was a longtime member of the Business Network International, always striving to better herself and those around her on her job.
A devoted catholic, Bonnie instilled religious education in hundreds of children throughout her lifetime. At St. John’s Church, Schaghticoke, she was a religious education teacher, the director of children’s liturgy and had also taught First Communion classes. She also taught confirmation at St. Joseph’s Church in Troy for some time.
A proud volunteer for the Rensselaer County Rape Crisis Program, she served as a hotline attendee for the county’s Rape Victim’s Hotline.
In her spare time, Bonnie enjoyed scrapbooking, genealogy, fishing and family camping trips.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Michael A. Tidd, whom she married on July 24, 2010, her children Tandi Madigan of Valley Falls, Robert Wasielewski, II of NH, Daniel(Laurie) Wasielewski of Hoosick Falls, grandchildren Megan(Frank) Steckler, Robert(Makayla) and Bryant(Cara) Madigan, Kathryn, Robert III, Shauna and Khloe Wasielewski, step children Laura(Bill) Turner, Jennifer(Mike) Ausiello, Shawn(Allison) Tidd, a step grandson Trevor Tidd, great grandchildren Haylei, Kayden, Maysen, Lilianna, Keenan and Eden, siblings Carolyn Chabot, Douglas(Helen) Bogue, Fredrick(Mary) Bogue, sisters in law Ilene and Eiko Bogue and many nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was predeceased by brothers Gary and William Bogue.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 1 2017 at 9 AM at Corpus Christi Church, 2001 Route 9, Round Lake, NY 12049. Calling Hours on Thursday from 4-7PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118. Those wishing to remember her in a special way are asked to make contributions to American Cancer Society or Community Hospice of Saratoga in memory of Bonita Fabio-Tidd.
