MECHANICVILLE - Charles V. Adams, 43, of River Road, Hemstreet Park, died Sunday, Nov. 19th. Born in Mechanicville, Oct 31, 1974, son of John and Ellen Adams, graduated from Mechanicville High School in 1993. Charlie worked at the General Electric Silicone Products plant in Waterford for 12 years. As a life change, Charlie joined the US Army from 2005-07. He most recently worked for Cargill Industries in Albany.
A fun loving guy, he loved fishing, especially behind his Hudson River home, a place where he found peace in today’s crazy world and more importantly where he taught his nieces and nephews the sport of fishing. A good athlete, Charlie played Red Raider football in high school and then on his very own flag football team, the End Zone Rage, and was part of their Capital Region Super Bowl team. An avid sports fan, he, along with his entire family, was a huge Buffalo Bills fan. He also shared a mutual love of the NY Mets with his mother and he and his father could be seen cheering on Seton Hall while watching Big East Basketball.
A true family man, he adored his nieces and nephews. He shared special memories with each of them and was always proud of their accomplishments, whether academically, athletically or for service to others. He also had an amazing relationship with his mom and dad, spending many Sundays with them enjoying the things most endearing to each of them. He grew up close to his sister Meghan and brother Michael and formed an unbreakable bond with each of them. Charlie also had an abundance of friends who loved him and he in turn loved back, always lending a hand or ear when they needed him most.
Charlie had struggles that he fought bravely over the years although his last two years were truly his best.
Survivors in addition to his mother Ellen and father John include his siblings Meghan(Vincent) Rapacciuolo, Michael(Nirisa) Adams and Chase Bell, nieces and nephews Vinny, Ashley, Grace, Zack, Vivian, Chase, Russell, and new born nephew Everest Charles who although he never met, his spirit could be felt in the hospital room as he was born, his girlfriend Tiffany Bessette and also Aunt Char and Uncle Fred LaRose and their children Jason and Joyell who were always there for him.
Charlie joins his late grandparents and dear uncle Tom Adams now eternally but will always be on that sacred river bank in spirit watching over his beloved family.
Calling hours will be held on Friday Nov 24th from 5-8PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St., Mechanicville, with a funeral home service starting immediately after at 8PM. Charlie’s family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 510 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in his memory.
