STILLWATER - Mrs. Betty E. Hanehan, 86 of Hudson Ave., died Wed evening, Nov. 15th, at home, after an extended illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Stillwater, born May 31, 1931, daughter of the late Peter and Pearl Brown, Betty was a 1949 graduate of Stillwater Central School.
A homemaker, who before children worked at the former Ballston-Stillwater Knitting Mill. While her late husband served as the Village Clerk of Stillwater, Betty was his Deputy and did many of the daily duties required, they made a Good team.
An avid reader and crossword puzzler, Betty was a very patriotic woman, who gave thanks to veterans for their service to our country.
She was a member of Stillwater United Church.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Michael J. Hanehan, Sr, who died 2016 and her first husband William Phillips, who died young in life.
Betty was the loving Mother of: William (Stephanie) Phillips of San Diego, Thomas (Lisa) Phillips, Colleen (Frank) Maheux and Michael (Michelle Dodge) Hanehan, Jr. all of Stillwater and Karrin (Bill) Campbell of Malta, along with 10 grand, 4 great grand, her sister Constance Mellon of Stillwater, nieces, nephews and their families.
She was also predeceased by her brothers Richard and Robert Brown.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 3 PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville, with burial to follow in Stillwater United Cemetery. Calling hours at the Funeral Home on Saturday from 1-3 PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to either Peter Brown Scholarship of Stillwater Central School, or Community Hospice in memory of Betty E. Hanehan.
