Obituary for Thomas L. Giacomini

Thomas L.  Giacomini
STILLWATER - Thomas Leo Giacomini, 61 of Van Ness Rd, died Tuesday morning, May 30th, at his home, after a 7 year courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Somerset, NJ, March 30, 1956, son of the late Leo and Margaret Giacomini and brother of the late Gary Giacomini, Tom grew up in New Jersey, he had lived in the Buffalo area for years, moving to his Van Ness Rd. home 20 years ago.
Tom was a self employed painter and wood refinishing specialist. Previously he had an 11 year career with the New Jersey State Dept. of Corrections. Tom proudly served with the US Marine Corps.
Tom enjoyed taking wonderful care of his home and property, loved his numerous pets over the years, collected much sports memorabilia, enjoyed traveling, when he could get away from his much loved pets.
A Buffalo Bills and NY Mets fan, Tom was a member of the American Legion Post 91 and the Elks Lodge 1403 both of Mechanicville.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years Carolyn J. Giacomini, a brother Kenneth (Amy) Giacomini and sister-in-law Lynn Giacomini all of New Jersey, along with nieces, nephews and grand nephews. Also local loyal friends John Lavazzo and Paul Uhl.
A service of remembrance will be held at the American Legion Post 91, South Main St., Mechanicville on Saturday, June 24th at Noon, following a friends gathering starting at 11 AM. A celebration of life gathering will be held following the remembrance service on the Legion grounds.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Hospice or the ASPCA, in fond memory of Thomas L. Giacomini.
