SARATOGA SPRINGS- Mark W. Kahabka, age 59, passed away Wednesday morning, November 17th, in Richmond, Virginia.
Born on March 24, 1957 in Plattsburgh, New York, Mark was the son of Shirley (Beauvais) Kahabka and the late Walter H. Kahabka.
He graduated from Sharon Springs Central School in 1975. He continued his education at SUNY Cobleskill, majoring in Hotel Management, graduating in 1977. He began his career at the Best Western in Cobleskill, NY then moved onto the Holiday Inn in Oneonta, NY. Mark traveled all around the country, doing what he loved best - working in hotel management. He worked in Boston, MA; San Francisco, CA; Key West and Orlando, FL; Plattsburgh, NY; Georgia; Texas; and Richmond, Virginia. Mark loved to go to estate sales with his friends and enjoyed riding his Triumph motorcycle. He retired last year and moved up to Saratoga Springs to help take care of his mom.
Mark is survived by his mother, Shirley B. Kahabka; sister, Susan (Wayne) Gallt; brother, Jeff (Mary Beth) Kahabka; nephews, Toby (Megan) Gallt, Justin Kahabka; niece, Lexy Kahabka; aunts, uncles and cousins. Also many dear friends he had made along life’s journey, and his beloved canine companion of 14+ years, Brody.
He was predeceased by his father, Walter Kahabka, and his close friend, Danny White.
Services will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family.
Till we meet again Mark - enjoy that huge Starbucks in the sky. Love you.
