MECHANICVILLE - Tessie A. Tarsa, 90, of Mechanicville died peacefully at her home on July 3, 2016. She was born on October 30, 1925 in Easton, NY and was the daughter of the late John and Katherine (Magatz) Tarsa.
Miss Tarsa was a loyal and valued secretary at General Electric in Schenectady for more than 40 years. G.E. was her only employer in her long career.
Miss Tarsa was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Church, Stillwater, NY, now All Saints on the Hudson, the church’s Tuesday night Novena Club and the G.E. Retirees Club. Her seemingly boundless energy made her a favorite Aunt to many of her ball playing grandnieces and nephews, and her greatest joy in later years was enjoying Sunday ice cream trips with her “Buddy” Kelly.
Miss Tarsa is survived by her nieces and nephews Laureen (Joseph) Sheehan, David (Aimee) Tarsa, Ann Marie (John) Crumb, Linda (Ed) Jordan, Michael (Mary) Tarsa. She was predeceased by nephews Bryan Tarsa and John Tarsa, and survived by grandnieces and grandnephews Tim and Kelly Sheehan, Justin Hardecker, Tyler Varese, Greg Tarsa, Damian, David, Alisa and Grace Tarsa, Beth Hayes, Amy Solan and John Tarsa, together with extended family and many long-time friends. She was also predeceased by her sisters Mary Hotaling and Helen Gervasio and her brothers Stanley and Frank Tarsa.
Tessie’s family extends its heartfelt thanks to the dedicated group of truly kind and compassionate caregivers who became everyday family to Tessie in recent months: Sue, Nancy Jo, Laurie, Carolina, Ann Marie, Michelle and Rohannie.
