COHOES - Diane J. Kirby, 58, of Clark Avenue, died Monday November 2nd at Albany Medical Center in the loving company of her family. Born in Troy on May 13, 1957, she was the daughter of the late William and Jean VanEtten Conroy.
A graduate of Catholic Central High School, Diane had worked at Sam’s Club and then Wal-Mart in Latham for the past 9 years as a stocker.
Diane enjoyed gardening around the home and especially feeding all the little critters and birds in the yard. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading, and writing poems. Most of all, she loved the time she was able to spend with her two precious grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, James Kirby, whom she married on December 14, 1984, her beloved daughters Shannon(Derek) McDonagh of Stillwater and Vanessa Kirby of Cohoes, cherished grandchildren Ryleigh and Colden McDonagh and siblings Pat(Lynn) Conroy of S.C., Donna Conroy, and James(Dolores) Conroy of Loudonville and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dog Gonzo and cat Tessa.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday November 5th at St. Luke’s on the Hill Church, 40 McBride Road, Mechanicville, NY 12118 from 4-7PM. A Funeral Mass will follow at 7PM. Inurnment service at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY 12871, will be held on Friday at 10:30AM. Friends and family that would like to attend are asked to be at the cemetery at 10:15AM.
