STILLWATER - Edward J. Zuzick, Sr., 85, of Route 32, died Tuesday, Feb. 10th at Saratoga Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born on the Zuzick Farm, May 11, 1929, he was son of the late John and Amelia Purple Zuzick. Ed was an engineer with the Delaware and Hudson Railroad for a number of years. Later he drove tractor trailers for Fort Edward Express for many years and DeCrescente Distributors for a number of years. In addition he operated his family’s dairy farm for most of his life.
Over his lifetime, Ed was awarded the 5 million mile safe driver award, and enshrined in the Mack Truck million mile club. An antique truck enthusiast, Ed was a member of the Mohawk chapter Antique Truck Club, and loved antiques of all kinds.
A life member of Arvin Hart Fire Dept and 48 year member of Mechanicville-Stillwater Elks Lodge 1403, Ed was always a Big Man with a great personality and bright outlook of life. His presence will be surely missed.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years Beverly Baisley Zuzick, his loyal children: Edward J. Jr., Sue and Linda Zuzick, Nancy (Michael) Britt and John Zuzick all of Stillwater. Adored grandchildren: Krista Britt, Eddie, Hunter, Morgan and Mackenzie Zuzick and Steve (Beth) Muth, along with nieces and nephews including Lorraine Gorsky Muth of Clifton Park, and Ed’s best friend and canine companion Jack.
Ed was predeceased by his sister Theresa Gorsky.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 7 PM at All Saints on the Hudson North Church (St. Peter’s), Hudson Ave., Stillwater. Spring burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours at the Church Friday from 4-7 PM.
