Obituary

MECHANICVILLE - Judith A. Fusco, 65, of Park Avenue, died peacefully at Albany Medical Center on May 2, 2021 as a result of a recent stroke suffered in her home last week. Born in Troy on March 19, 1956, daughter of the late Daniel "Skinners" and Josephine "Babe" Fusco, Sr, and sister of the late Daniel "Nature" Fusco Jr, she was a 1974 graduate of Mechanicville High School.
Judy worked for NYS Department of Tax and Finance for over 35 years before retiring in 2010. She was blessed with a loving family and amazing friends who she enjoyed spending time with. Nights on her porch were always filled with laughter and great stories. She and the love of her life, Don Pratt, enjoyed dinners together and traveling. Trips to the ocean and their yearly Gloucester, MA summer trip were among her favorites. A "slot queen", she also enjoyed Las Vegas trips, but local casinos were just as fun. An animal lover, she also cherished her canine companions through the years.
Survivors include her life partner and fiancé of 43 years, Donald J. Pratt, her sister Joyce Fusco of Mechanicville, brother David "Harvey"(Kelli) Fusco of Stillwater, her beloved nephew Anthony(Ashlee) Eaton, and her best friend and unwavering caregiver of the past several years since her first stroke, Anne Miranda. Also survived by her uncle Anthony(Donna) DiBello and many loving cousins and friends.
Calling hours on Saturday, May 8th from 10AM - 12PM at Corpus Christi Church, 2001 Route 9, Round Lake, NY 12151. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the calling hours with burial in St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Rd, Ballston Spa, NY 12020 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 610 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I hate death. Thus, I am saddened to read of the death of my cousin, Judy, who, growing-up, was renowned to me to be so, literally, "full of life."

Judy's late mom, Josephine, my beloved "Aunt Babe," was also a joyous and iconic figure to those in their hometown of Mechanicville; a place for me, to visit with my Dad, Tony, or "Dee," for all the charismatic and interesting and iconic Italians on that side of our family.

Surely, while my Aunt Babe was the most treasured of all my female Mechanicville relatives; there was probably none more joyful or popular than her daughter, Judy.

Yes, Joyce, "Joycie," and David, and the deceased Dan; her brothers and sister are "characters" in their rights; yet, I just always remember Judy as being "the life of the party," of my Italian cousins.

Regrettably, I didn't know Judy, well, in her later years, since I had moved from New York; and since she thought: "Oh, here comes Mark" and that I talked too much [which is true, at times]; truly, it was only because I was always so excited and felt I needed to work extra hard to entertain my cousins, who were always so entertaining, exciting and interesting to me; and none more than Judy.

However, I have forgivingly came to understand, just now, that in Mechanicville and especially among my female cousins, in that great and memorable city; there was only one star of the Fusco and DiBello families, in that show and locale; and that was Judy.
God bless my cousins David and Joyce and may they find healing in this time of mourning; and so too, all Judy's relatives, especially my dad, her "Uncle Dee," whom I have heard cry for days. Therefore, at his behest and on his behalf, I post this remembrance and these photos of Judy.

May The Good Lord take hold of the soul of Judy Fusco and may she rest in peace.

God Bless,

Mark Anthony DiBello
