Print
HALFMOON - Mrs. Hedwig “Nonie” Raylinsky Russell, 88, of Raylinsky Lane, died peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 19th at home, in the loving company of her family.
Born and raised on Raylinsky Lane, Town of Halfmoon, May 25, 1930, daughter of the late Vincent and Genevieve Johnson Raylinsky, she was predeceased this past January 16th by her husband of 70 years, Edward J. Russell, Sr.
From her youth, she grew up on her family’s farm, and preformed many chores as did her siblings. Years later Nonie was a cafeteria aide for the Mechanicville Public Schools for a number of years. She enjoyed looking after all “her” students, and they in turn, accepted her motherly spirit.
Nonie was her Mother’s caretaker for years, and loved looking after her own family, and their friends. She was a wonderful cook, specializing in her delicious galumpkis and pierogies and liked to keep her hands busy crocheting.
She was a communicant of All Saints on the Hudson Church, and a lifetime member of American Legion Henry F. Lefko Post Ladies Auxiliary..
Survivors include her three adoring children: Edward J. and JoAnn Russell, Jr., Vincent Russell and Rhonda, Patricia and Joseph Meyer all of Halfmoon, grandchildren: Jodi and Joe DeMarco, Todd and Terri Russell, Christopher and Andrea Meyer, Nicholas and Cheryl Meyer and Vincent E. Russell. Great grandchildren: Alysa and Brandon Russell, Colby and Maya DeMarco, Nathaniel, Edward and Theodore Meyer and faithful sister-in-law Katherine Notro, along with many nieces, nephews and their families.
Nonie was also predeceased by brothers Cashmir, Matthew, Stanley and Edmund Raylinsky and sisters Stella Divinsky, Jennie Roe and Helen Dworakowski.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Sept 21st at Noon at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 North Main St., Mechanicville.
Calling hours at the North Main St. Church on Friday morning from 10 AM till Noon.
Entombment in St. Paul’s Mausoleum.
Nonie’s family appreciated all the care, comfort and concern that Community Hospice of Saratoga and specifically Nichole and Rosalee extended to Nonie and her family.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, 12866.
