Obituary for Mark C. Dahlin

GANSEVOORT - Mark C. Dahlin of Gansevoort died at home Thursday, April 24 surrounded by his loving family after a determined five-year battle with cancer. He was 71. Born in Schenectady in 1952, Mark attended Schenectady public schools and graduated from Linton High School.

Following graduation, he was employed at General Electric Co., Lockheed Martin and Bechtel companies in Schenectady, retiring after 41 years.

Mark was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Beverly Brown Boucher; son Matthew; and step-children Eric (Jamie), Chris (DeAnne) and Edward, Jr. Survivors also include two sisters, Susan Myren and Mary Ann Kermani, as well as an uncle, Robert Dahlin, and two aunts, Judith Pagois and Jean Gallo. Mark adored his grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent with them. They are: Eric, Jr., Dylan, Connor, Emma and Matt Boucher; Nate, Zach, Vanessa and Skylar Glasser, and Harleigh Dahlin.

Mark’s parents, Purcell Dahlin and Eleanor Jensen Dahlin, predeceased him by several years.

Mark was an avid bowler, competing in several local leagues until 2023. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

The family is grateful for the loving and compassionate care Mark received from Saratoga Oncology and Dr. Delmonte and his staff. The family also is thankful to Vicky and her colleagues at Community Hospice of Saratoga County for their loving care.

Calling Hours will be held Sunday, April 28 from 2-4PM at the DeVito Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 South Main St., Mechanicville, NY 12118 with a funeral home service to follow at 4PM..
