Obituary for Patricia Quinones (Russom)

MECHANICVILLE - Patricia (Pat) Russom Quinones, 72, former resident of Mechanicville, passed away at her home in Merida, Mexico, on Easter morning, March 31st, after battling several major health issues for the past 2 years. Daughter of the late Daniel and Helen Spohn Russom, she was born in Troy, NY, March 7, 1952 and graduated from Mechanicville High School in 1970, and received an associate’s degree in early childhood education from HVCC. Pat taught nursery school for several years in York, Pa, before moving to Ithaca, NY with her husband Carlos, as he obtained his MBA. Upon his graduation, they moved to St. Louis, Mo, where she worked for Texas Instruments, and later for Citi Corp. Upon retirement, they moved to Merida, Mx. There she was involved with many arts and crafts and local charity groups. She made many dear friends in the expat community.
Survivors include her husband Carlos R. Quinones, son Carlos D. Quinones along with his children Maia and Xander of St. Louis. Her siblings Velma Russom, Laurie (late John) Tompkins and Roberta (Michael Cerkowski) Russom all of Mechanicville, Diane (Jim) Harrison and their daughter Amanda of St. Louis and Dan (Jill) Russom and their children Casey and Katie of Northville. Also a sister-in-law Karen Quinones Aponte and children Ana and Sebastian of St. Louis, fur babies Gus and Clementina and the many stray cats she cared for. She also leaves behind many cousins on both the Spohn and Russom families and many dear friends in St. Louis and Mexico.
Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories of Pat at a Celebration of Life Remembrance at the End Zone Restaurant, Park Ave., Mechanicville on Sunday, April 21st from 1-4 PM.
Remembrances in her memory are appreciated to any animal rescue group or a charity of choice.
