Obituary for William W. Patenaude

STILLWATER - William W. Patenaude, 92, died Friday, March 22, at home, in the loving company of his family. Born in Albany, February 15, 1932, son of the late Wilfred and Elizabeth Patenaude and step-son of Rose Everts Patenaude, Bill was a 1950 graduate of LaSalle Institute. Shortly after, Bill proudly enlisted in the US Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War with the 1st Marine Division, honorably discharged in 1954.

Bill was a former Vice-President of W.W. Patenaude & Sons Painting Contractors, a successful family business for many years before retirement. Years ago, Bill had also worked for the Boston and Maine Railroad, for several years. A handyman, Bill built his own home, and could do just about anything he put his mind to. In his middle age era, he and his wife adventured to learn the sport of snow skiing, with family and friends. Bill was a member of the American Legion Post 490 of Stillwater and All Saints on the Hudson Church (St. Peter’s).

Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Beverly Barbolt Patenaude, who he married in 1954, his four proud sons: Michael(Lorrie) of Gansevoort, William P. (Suzanne) of Schuylerville, Jeff (Karla) of Florida and Andrew (Christine) of Schuylerville. Adored grandfather of Nathan (Katie) Patenaude, Jessica (Tom) Quigley, Tera (Keith) Larson, Brady (Kellie), Brittany and Brogan Patenaude, Samantha and Sean (Stepheny) Patenaude, Amanda, Joshua, Matthew and Olivia Patenaude, along with 13 great grandchildren. Also his brothers George and Charles (Patty) Patenaude of Mechanicville, step-brother Henry (Marion) Everts, sisters-in-law Helga, Shirley and JoAnn Patenaude, and many nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, predeceased by brothers Edward, Kenneth (Deni), Richard, Robert, James and Carol, Harold “Sonny” Patenaude, Norma (Ed) Vickery, Betty Whalen, Patricia Morrison, sister-in-law Betty Patenaude, Milfred and David (Marjorie) Everts.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 27th at 7 PM at All Saints on Hudson Church, 895 Hudson Ave, Stillwater. Calling Hours at the Church on Wed, from 5-7 PM.
