Obituary for Jean Cook

STILLWATER - Jean Cook, 81, of Hudson Avenue, died peacefully in the comfort of her home on February 8, 2024, in the company of her loving family. Born in Tewkesbury, England on November 1, 1942, daughter of the late Frederick and Edna Kussius, her family immigrated to the United States when she was a young girl.

A Stillwater High School graduate, Jean worked as a retail clerk for most of her career, spending time with companies such as Montgomery Ward, American Linen, Sears, and most recently with Michaels craft store in Clifton Park.

Jean and husband Lee were members of the Good Sam RV Club, enjoying their travels around the country with friends they made through the years. At home, she enjoyed planting flowers, her garden, and reading books about angels. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and her 2PM Sunday dinners were something the family looked forward to.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, LeRoy “Lee” Cook, sons Scott Cook of Stillwater and Christopher(Angel) Cook of Providence, NY, as well as 10 grand and 12 great grandchildren. Also siblings Janet(Bill) DeCota, John(Susan) Kussius, Keith(Susan) Kussius, and Toni(James) Coons, and several nieces and nephews. Sadly, she was predeceased by her daughter Cindy Lee Gargano.

Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, February 17th from 12-2PM at the DeVito Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S Manning Blvd, Albany, NY 12205 or the National Breast Cancer Foundation, PO Box 676910, Dallas, TX 75267-6910 in loving memory of Jean Cook.
