Obituary for Gerald M. "Jerry" Daley

MECHANICVILLE - Gerald M. “Jerry” Daley, 76, of Dewey Ave, died peacefully at Saratoga Hospital on January 13, 2024, after being stricken at his home a few days prior. Born in Troy on December 13, 1947, he was the son of the late James and Mildred Duffney Daley, and husband of the late Cathleen Carelli Daley, who passed in 2020.
A Mechanicville High School graduate, Jerry joined the US Army and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1970.
Jerry worked as a welder for General Electric, Schenectady for 33 years before relocating to Momentive Performance Materials, where he worked 9 years until his retirement. Jerry enjoyed fishing, trips to the Racino, playing his daily numbers, and his nearly daily trips to Saratoga National Cemetery to visit his beloved Cathy.
In addition to his wife Cathy and parents, Jerry was predeceased by his siblings Carol, James, Joan, Katherine, and Jean.
Survivors include her sons Michael(Amy) Daley of Mechanicville and Timothy(Ana) Daley of Raleigh, NC, grandchildren Emma, Michael, Madison, Colin, Caitlyn and Carson Daley, sister Millie and brother John, and several nieces and nephews.

A calling hour will be held at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118 on Thursday, January 18th from 11-12AM. Funeral Home service at 12PM followed by Military Honors and inurnment service at the Saratoga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1003 New Loudon Road, Suite 201, Cohoes, NY 12047 in loving memory of Gerald M. Daley.
