Obituary for Marilyn J. Whalen (Bullard)

STILLWATER - Marilyn J. Whalen, 91, of Brickyard Rd, died peacefully in the comfort of her home, on January 4, 2024, after a long illness. Born in Manchester, NH on April 5, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Leona Notarage Bullard and wife of the late William E. Whalen, who died in 1996.
A mother of 14, who took pride in the care she provided to her large family, Marilyn was truly a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had many hobbies including gardening, fishing, crocheting, writing poetry, football, puzzles, coloring, and tending to her cats. She was a NY Yankee and Denver Bronco fan.
Marilyn’s family is comforted to know she is at peace and reunited with her beloved husband William, and children Sharon Salway, Robin Lusk, Laurie Holmwood, Kathleen, Michael, and Maureen, all of whom sadly predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her brothers Robert and Donald Bullard, Lou Hoffman, and sisters Thelma Hoffman, Dorothy Abrams, and Jeanette Linker.
Survivors include her children: Nancy(Jed) Giffen, William(Debbie) Whalen, Thomas(Bonnie) Whalen, James Whalen, Colleen Whalen, Gary Whalen and Scott Whalen, Victoria(Jeff) Stewart, 70 grand, great, and great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Marilyn’s family would like to thank the staff at Saratoga Hospital, Community Hospice, Landmark, and The Eddy, for the care and compassion showed through this recent journey.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family and there will be no calling hours. Burial in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford.
