Obituary for Dominick J. Carelli

MECHANICVILLE - Dominick J. Carelli, longtime resident of Dewey Ave, Pruyn Hill, died Saturday afternoon, December 23rd, while residing at Shaker Place Rehabilitation and Nursing, after a brief illness. Born in Hoosick Falls, NY, Dominick co-owned and operated the former Hudson River Drive-In in Stillwater with his wife Mary for many years.
A graduate of Hoosick Falls High School, he was a true business man, always dressed to the nines, and at the ready of whatever duties came up. After the Drive-In closed, he would open Micropulse Computer shop in Mechanicville, helping the people of his community with computer sales or their technical support needs. Dominick loved his family and the time he spent with them. He was also a faithful communicant of the Assumption-St. Paul Parish(All Saints on the Hudson).
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 74 years, Mary, whom he missed so much, as well as his daughter Cathleen Daley, and siblings Frank Carelli, Mary Alonzo, Rose Willard, and Jane Fay.
Survivors include his loving children: Donna Carelli of Holland Patent, NY, and Dominic (Jill) Carelli of Gatlinburg, TN, son in law Jerry Daley, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grand and 4 great great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews and their families.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11AM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 North Main St., with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
There will be a calling hour for family and friends, at the church prior to mass, on Friday from 10-11AM.
