MECHANICVILLE - Linda Marie George, 74, of Falcon Trace Senior Living Apts, peacefully entered into eternal life Friday evening, Oct. 13th at Our Lady of Mercy Center, Guilderland, after an extended illness.
Born in Troy, December 5, 1948, daughter of the late William and Elsie Rivett George, Linda was a 1966 graduate of Keveny Academy, a graduate of Hudson Valley CC and later in life earned a Bachelors of Science degree from Empire State College.
Linda was an employee of New York Telephone for 28 years, retiring as supervisor.
She enjoyed reading and was very proficient in drawing, loved to travel, including several trips she made to Ireland, was a devoted fan of the TV hit show NCIS.
Survivors include her loyal sister Gail and husband Gary Isles of Mechanicville, her beloved nephew and niece Matthew Isles of Mechanicville and Kathleen and husband Brian and grand niece Lizzie Ennis of White Plains.
Linda’s family thanks the many home health care aides of the past year, for their care, compassion and concern, shown to their loved one. Also to her friend Kathy Hedland for her many years of friendship and support.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 North Main Street, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Calling Hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Community Hospice, in respectful memory of Linda Marie George.
