Obituary for Anne T. DeVito (Caponi)

MECHANICVILLE - Anne Caponi DeVito, 90, longtime resident of No. Third Ave., died Saturday, July 15th, at Samaritan Hospital, after falling ill while residing at Van Rensselaer Manor for the past several years. Born in Waterford on July 21, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Adelina Lombardo Caponi.
Anne worked as a meat wrapper in the Deli department at the former Grand Union, Mechanicville. She enjoyed entertaining and visiting with family and friends, loved to bake and was an amazing Italian cook. She loved countryside rides through NY and Vermont with her immediate family and vacations in Wildwood, NJ.
She was a longtime communicant of the Assumption-St. Paul Church.

Anne was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Francis DeVito, an infant son Frank, her daughter Tina Anne Yaksta, RN, and brothers John, Pasqualin, Armand, and Anthony Caponi and sister Lena Patregnani.

Survivors include her daughter Mary Jo DeVito-Symons and her husband Kerry Symons of Vancouver, Wa, grandchildren Jessica (Scott) Maimone and Jarrod Yaksta, great grandchildren Sydney, Sophia, and Jameson Maimone, Peyton Yaksta, Saphira Symons-Glegorio, and Ruby and Ben Howell and a number of nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Calling hours will be held at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville on Wednesday from 4-7PM. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 10AM at All Saints on the Hudson (St. Paul’s Church), 121 N Main St, Mechanicville with burial to follow at the Saratoga National Cemetery.
