Obituary for Nancy M. Miller (Carriero)
MECHANICVILLE - Nancy Carriero Miller, 87, of County Rt 75, died on May 3, 2023 at Albany Medical Center, with her loving and faithful family at her side. Born in Troy on March 26, 1936, daughter of the late John and Mary Rinaldi Carriero, she was a 1953 graduate of Mechanicville High School.
Nancy worked as a secretary for the NYS Department of Health for over 20 years. She was also an accomplished bowler of 50 years in the WIBC sanctioned Strikes and Spares League. A longtime member of the Italian Fraternal Ladies Auxiliary, she enjoyed the club’s women’s Bocce league. She was an avid NY Mets baseball fan and was known by her family as the Casino Queen. She enjoyed testing her luck, with many big hits along the way. A lifelong member of the All Saints on the Hudson Parish, Nancy cherished the time she spent with her grand and great grandchildren.
Nancy was predeceased by her beloved son Andrew John Miller, sons in law John Landry and David Giroux, and siblings Peter Carriero, Phyllis Bolognino, and Josephine McCloud.
Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Andrew Miller Jr, whom she married on February 5, 1956, her daughters Charlene Landry and Karen Giroux, grandchildren Melissa(Jeffrey) Scherl, Jennifer Landry, and David Giroux, great grandchildren Arianna and Gianna Scherl, and Jyvani Morelli, sisters Mary Sue Carriero and Catherine(Anthony) Belmonte, sister in law Charlotte Edwards, several nieces and nephews, and dear friends Angela Fehily, Michele Holmes, and Audrey Wood.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 11-12PM at All Saints on the Hudson(St. Paul’s) Church, 121 N Main Street, Mechanicville, NY 12118. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:15PM with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
