Obituary for Francis E. Bouchard

HALFMOON - Rev. Francis E Bouchard, 81, of Mechanicville, died peacefully at Schuyler Ridge Residential Healthcare on March 30, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy, NY on August 26, 1941, he was the son of the late John & Evelyn Bouleris Bouchard.

Francis attended several La Salette Seminary Schools and took his vows of the priesthood in 1968. He served that vocation for 13 years. After leaving the priesthood, he met the love of his life, Bridget Robbins, whom he married in 1982. He worked for the NYS Department of Education for over 25 years until he retired.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Bridget in 2018.

Francis was a motorcycle enthusiast who attended many Motorcades across the country with Bridget. He loved jazz music and also participated in several choral groups. He loved cats, especially his beloved Miss Molly.

Survivors include his siblings: Lorraine (James) Gorton of Cohoes, NY , Ephrem (Carol) Bouchard, Carol “Lynne” (Herbert) Scull, and John (Dawn) Bouchard all of The Villages, Florida, Nieces: Pamela, Suzanne, Michelle, Jennifer, Melissa, Stephanie, and their families. He is also survived by his in-laws, the Robbins family of Ohio, and his adopted family the Croteaus of Massachusetts.

His family wishes to offer sincere thanks to his grandniece Arianna Russman RN, and the entire staff of Schuyler Ridge for the care, compassion, and concern given to him during his stay there. Also, thanks to his faithful and loyal friends Charlie and Peter for always looking out for him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints on the Hudson, 121 N Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118 on Friday, May 5th at NOON. Calling hours prior to the mass, at the church, will be from 11am-12pm. Burial in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Hospice 179 Lawrence St, Saratoga Springs.
