Obituary for Daniel P. Murphy Jr.
MECHANICVILLE - Daniel P. Murphy, Jr, 41, passed away on March 10, 2023. Born in Albany on September 2, 1981, he as the son of the late Daniel P. Murphy Sr and Kathleen Bogardus Fuld.
Dan worked as a carpenter for the past several years for John Cimino Home Enhancements, Clifton Park. He also worked in the paving industry, for several companies, during the summer months.
Dan was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing, was an avid woodworker, and loved sitting at the camp fires he and niece Jaelyn made together.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Dena Sebast Murphy, children Bailey and Sage Murphy, siblings, Katie(Mike) Dooley-Kennedy, Charles(Molly) Stanley, Phoebe Stanley(Leonard Drown), Caleb and Autumn Murphy, mother in law Mary Sebast, sister in law Dana(Tim) Sebast, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Daniel Sr and Kathleen, he was recently predeceased by his father in law George Sebast.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Dan’s family wishes to offer the Mechanicville and Troy Police Departments for their efforts in making sure to get him back to his family. Although the sad conclusion, they kept him a priority until the moment he was located.
In lieu of flowers, as a way to support Dan’s wish to help others in need of addiction recovery, remembrances may be made to NAMI Capital Region NY, P.O. Box 397, West Sand Lake, NY 12196 in memory of Daniel P. Murphy Jr.
