Obituary for Shirley Mae Gemmiti (DiPasquale)

STILLWATER - Shirley M. Gemmiti, 83, of County Rt 70, died peacefully at Saratoga Hospital on March 8, 2023, after a brief illness. Born in Ballston Spa on March 16, 1939, daughter of the late Ralph DiPasquale and Pearl Lebarron Wilson, Pearl’s second husband Philip Wilson was also an important part of Shirley and her children’s life.
A proud homemaker most of her life, she enjoyed knitting, bird watching, and puzzles. She also loved to garden and enjoyed the garden to table experience it provided. Canning, making preserves, and using her garden goods were all things she excelled in. She and husband Frank were also avid travelers, members of the Good Sam RV Club. They visited the lower 48 states by RV and also Hawaii and Alaska, as well as other international vacations.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Frank E. Gemmiti, as well as her brother Ralph DiPasquale.
Survivors include her children: Kathianne Gemmiti King of Ballston Spa, Lucinda “Cindy” Gemmiti Brunell of Saratoga Springs, and Frank(Shari) Gemmiti Jr, of Williamsburg, VA, grandchildren Kevin(Kristin) and T.J.(Jessica) Brunell, Todd Lloyd, Frank Gemmiti, III, Nikolas(Corie) and Korey Gemmiti, Shaughn(Brittany) and Zachary King, great grandchildren: Tyler, Jase, Grey, Sawyer and Layla, Blaine and Ripp. Also her brother Richard Wilson, and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Stillwater.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Rd, Ballston Spa, NY 12020 in loving memory of Shirley M. Gemmiti.
