Obituary for Norma J. Vickery (Patenaude)

MECHANICVILLE - Norma J. (Patenaude) Vickery, 83, of So. Linden St., Hemstreet Park, died Friday, March 3.
Norma was born in Mechanicville January 15, 1940, daughter of the late Wilfred and Elizabeth Smith Patenaude and stepdaughter of the late Rose Everts. Norma was a 1957 graduate of Mechanicville High School.
She was a secretary with NY State Police in Albany before working with her beloved father, brothers, nieces, nephews and so many others at family-owned W.W. Patenaude Sons, Inc. of Mechanicville. She enjoyed tending roses along her picket fence, along with art and drawing. Her home was always welcoming to family and friends.
A communicant of All Saints on the Hudson Church, she was a church lector and enjoyed decorating the church for holy and seasonal displays.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Charles Edward Vickery, Jr., who died in 2008, along with siblings Edward, Kenneth (Deni), Richard, Robert, James (Carol), Harold “Sonny”, Betty Whalen, Milford Everts, David(Marjorie) Everts and son-in-law Howard Haight.
Survivors include her loving daughter Elizabeth Haight of Dalton, MA, and son Charles (Michele) Vickery III of Oxford, PA. She was a loving grandmother to Elizabeth Haight, Rebecca (Matt) Haight-Santa Maria, Danielle (Chris) Baldwin and Charles E. (Caitlin) Vickery IV, along with great grandchildren Mary, Kyle, Carl, Dina and Anna.
Surviving siblings are William (Beverly), George (predeceased by wife Betty), Charles (Patty), Patricia Morrison (predeceased by husband Dick), Henry (Marion) Everts, along with sisters-in-law Helga (Edward) Patenaude, Shirley (Richard) Patenaude, JoAnn (Robert) Patenaude. She was also a much-loved aunt of many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 11th at Noon at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 No. Main St, Mechanicville, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church Saturday from 10 AM till time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to All Saints on the Hudson Church, in respectful memory of Norma Patenaude Vickery.
