Obituary for Rosemary A. Clancy (Sluti)

MECHANICVILLE - Rosemary Alice Clancy, 82, of Mechanicville, NY passed away on March 2nd at Albany Medical Center. She passed peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her children, Cindy Clancy Attanasio and Husband Len, of Ballston Lake, Robin Clancy Powers of Halfmoon, and Will Clancy, of New Haven, CT. Rosemary graduated from Shenendehowa High School in 1959. In 1962, she married her husband, Bill Clancy, enjoying 52 wonderful years until his passing in 2014. After retirement, the two loved spending time together and travelling. They enjoyed several Caribbean cruises and visited Ireland in 2010.
Lovingly known as “Mims” by those who knew her well, Rosemary valued friends and family above all else. Most who knew Rosemary, referred to her as their “second mom.”
Within weeks of moving to her Mechanicville neighborhood in 2017, “Mims” endeared herself to her neighbors during her daily walks with her poodle “Punkin.” She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her three children and Will’s wife, Kathleen, she is survived by her brothers, Stanley and John Sluti, her sister, Darlene Hinrichs and grandchildren, Michael Folmsbee (Annie Needham), Jessica Folmsbee (Zachary Brown) and Liam Clancy.
A celebration of Rosemary’s life will be held at American Legion Post 91 in Mechanicville (427 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118) on Sunday, March 26th from 1-5 PM. All are welcome to attend. Dress is casual.
