Obituary for Gina Garmley (Garmley)
TROY - Gina L. Garmley, 62, died Saturday, Feb 25th at Samaritan Hospital, following an extended illness.
Born June 9, 1960, daughter of the late Raymond and Lucinda Smith Garmley, Gina grew up in Quaker Springs and then resided in Troy.
Gina began her career working at Highgate Nursing Home in Troy and then became a cook at Pathways Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Niskayuna.
Gina enjoyed spending time outdoors in the sunshine, camping, and visits to the casinos. She would always be willing to help anyone that knew her, if that meant giving them a ride somewhere, cooking, shoveling snow, or even mowing their lawn. She also spent time at the Old Saratoga Muzzle Loading Club with her family and friends over the years.
She is survived by many siblings: Raelinda Zeller, Debbie Cotazino, Margie Kirkpatrick, Pamela Hillicoss, Sharon Bennett, Dede Bullu, Georgianna Garmely, Chris Garmley, her companion Robert Martin and his family members Tara Manzer and Tracie Maloney and their families. She was predeceased by brothers Keith and Duane Garmley.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, March 3rd from 5-7 PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society.
