Obituary for Beatrice Ann Lane (Caputo)

HALFMOON - Beatrice Ann Lane, 85, longtime resident of Lower Newtown Road, passed peacefully Friday, Feb 24th at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Ctr, Troy, following an extended illness.
Born in Troy, Sept. 26, 1937, she was daughter of the late Pasquale and Grace Rospo Caputo, and she was a 1954 graduate of Mechanicville High School.
“Bea” as she has been called by family and friends worked in the office of Mobil Oil Co. for a number of years.
Bea loved doing crafts, such as ceramics, knitting, and crocheting baby bibs for area hospitals. She loved spoiling her nieces and nephews with treats, and was affectionately referred to as the “snack lady”.
A member of Halfmoon Senior Citizens, Bea enjoyed bowling in the Mohawk Ladies bowling league.
She was a communicant of Assumption-St. Paul Church in Mechanicville.
Sadly, Bea was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, George C. Lane, Sr, in 2010, and brother-in-law Michael D’Aloia.
Survivors include her three adored children: George Lane, Jr.(Robert Rothacker) of Medford, MA., Debra Lane of East Greenbush and J. Michael Lane (Sean Bushart) of Sausalito, CA. siblings Patricia (Thomas) Cordier of Albany, OR., Anthony (Gloria) Caputo of Shrewsbury, Ma. and Donna D’Aloia of Mechanicville, along with nieces, nephews and their families.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville with burial to follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.
Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Thursday from 4-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. or Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in fond memory of Beatrice Caputo Lane.
