Obituary for Eugene W. Duchesne

STILLWATER - Eugene W. “Punk” Duchesne, 62, of Elm Lane, died Thursday afternoon Feb 23rd at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by his family, after an long respiratory illness.
Born in Troy, August 4, 1960, he was son of the late Kenneth and Eleanor Craft Duchesne, and was educated in Mechanicville.
A longtime paving contractor employee, Gene worked for Stanley Paving Co. of Stillwater and several other paving companies over the years. He had also worked for Royal Dyer Const. Co.
Gene was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast, who also enjoyed camping and hunting thru the years. His greatest joys were being with his family and friends. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion Post 91, Mechanicville.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 35 years Linda Doten Duchesne, his loving daughter Halley Thrane of Stillwater, son Zachary Duchesne and daughter Jeana Pestillo, grandchildren Brittany Degen, and Ava Thrane among a total of eight grandkids. His loyal siblings: Sherrie Rose, Jackie Snow, Cathy (Mark) Kramek, Jeffrey (MaryEllen) Duchesne and sister in law Julia Duchesne, along with a number of nieces, nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, Gene was predeceased his brother Ken “Jake” Duchesne and brothers-in-laws Bill McBride and James Snow, Jr..
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 4th at 5 PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. Calling Hours at the Funeral Home will precede the service from 2-5 PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Sons of the American Legion Post 91, Mechanicville.
