BALLSTON LAKE - Mrs. Bonnie P. Arbitrio, 76, died Sunday, January 15th at Saratoga Hospital, following a brief illness. Born in Cohoes, March 30, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Dombrowski Hollis .
Bonnie was a human relations leader for the Norton Co of Watervliet for 25 years.
She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the 500 Club. Bonnie loved her German Shepherd Dogs (GSD) and her family was most important to her.
A devout Roman Catholic, Bonnie was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church for many years and originated the Church’s Nifty Fifty Club, where she organized and led groups of middle aged church members onto day trips to many area attractions and beautiful country settings for a day away from their worlds.
Survivors include her loving husband of 42 years, Domenick Arbitrio, whom she married March 21, 1981. Also stepsons Mark (Alison) Arbitrio and grandson Jackson of Colorado, Jon (Melissa) West and grandchildren Savannah and Vivienne of Mass, son-in-law Stephen Bickel and grandchildren Matthew, Jacob and Kathryn, a sister Katherine Duclos of Troy. Her niece and nephews, who affectionately called her “AB”, and who she treated as her own, Kim (Bob) Hilton, James Hollis, Jr and Keith Hollis, along with grand nieces and nephew Samantha Hollis, Justin Hilton and Kara Hollis. Bonnie was predeceased by her step-daughter Heather Bickel and two brothers James Hollis, Sr and Edward Shevlin
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 23rd at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Grace Church, 73 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, with burial to follow at Saratoga National Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the Church from 10 AM till 11:30 AM on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to either St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, County Farm Rd, Ballston Spa, in loving memory of Bonnie Arbitrio.
