A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, Annie was born on July 9, 1935, to Rocco and Apollonia (DeSanta) Peluso, the youngest of 11 children. Annie was a 1952 graduate of MHS. After school, she began working in the teletype office of the NYS Dept. of Corrections, where she met her future husband, Francis A. “Frank” Galerie, who were married on February 4, 1956. She then returned to work for the NYS Dept. of Taxation and Finance, until her retirement .
After retirement, Annie and Frank were fixtures at the Mechanicville Golf Course and the Racino, but, mostly enjoyed spending their time with their children and grandchildren. After Frank’s passing in 2013, Annie remained active with her lifelong friends with their all-day poker games, trips to the Racino and Rivers and “going out with the girls”.
Annie enjoyed nothing more than cooking for her family and friends. Rarely was her immaculate home empty. Whether family dinners (1:00 sharp), making dinner for her friends or Tuesday fried dough after church, she enjoyed every minute. Annie was a devout parishioner of All Saints on the Hudson, and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was a former member of the Mechanicville Golf Course and played in two bocce ball leagues.
In addition to her husband and parents, Annie was pre-deceased by her Son-in-Law, Edward Coon and great granddaughter, Brinley-Rose Galerie. Annie was also pre-deceased by her brothers, Ralph, Michael, Rocco, Mike, John and Vincent and sisters, Carmella Taglione, Mary Peluso and Antonette Simpson.
