Obituary for Anna D. Izzo (Cacciola)

MECHANICVILLE -Anna D. Izzo, passed away suddenly on January 11th after a brief illness. She was 86.
Born July 25th, 1936 to Vincent and Carmella Musella Cacciola, Anna grew up in Albany and later moved to Mechanicville, which is where she lovingly raised her family. Anna was an amazing cook, best known for her eggplant parmigiana and homemade pizza. Her baking skills rivaled the best in class, and her cheese cakes and pies were the highlight of every family gathering.
Anna was a gifted painter who loved experimenting with different techniques. Aside from her family, her other great loves were traveling, dancing, and playing bocce. We know she’s in heaven recruiting the next championship bocce team.
In addition to her parents, Anna was pre-deceased by her husband Armand; brother Joe Cacciola; sister-in-law Kay Cacciola; nephew Rev. Anthony Michael Cacciola, OSB; in-laws Armand and Mary Izzo; brother-in-law John Fascia; sister-in-law Betty (Boopie) Fascia; and great niece Caitlin Coleman.
Anna is survived by her children - son Jack (Donna) Izzo of Mechanicville; daughter Valerie Coreno of Mechanicville; daughter Donna Izzo of Ballston Spa; son David (Sarah) Izzo of Mechanicville; and son Michael Izzo of California. Also survived by her adoring grandchildren who lovingly called her “Nina” - Jack and Brandon (Rebecca) Izzo; Joshua Coreno; Eric Croucier; Nicholas Randall; and Allison & Anna Izzo. She also leaves behind several nieces & nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 1:00pm at All Saints on the Hudson Roman Catholic Church, 121 No. Main Street in Mechanicville with burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the church on Tuesday from 11am - 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital in loving memory of Anna D. Izzo.
