STILLWATER – Terrence J. McDonald, 76, of Kellogg Rd, died peacefully in the comfort of his home on January 2, 2023. Born in Troy on October 17, 1946, he was the son of the late Laurence and Margaret “Peggy” Connor McDonald and husband of the late Mary Margaret Marmillo McDonald, who died in 2017. A 1964 graduate of Stillwater high School, Terry proudly served his country in the US Army from 1968–72.
Terry was a Crane Operator at the Watervliet Arsenal for nearly 20 years. Upon retiring he worked part time as a courier for New Country Toyota and then full time at the Saratoga Racino where he was a security officer at Simulcast. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 490, Stillwater. His life revolved around his family. Spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren always brought him joy.
In addition to his wife Mary and his parents Larry and Peggy, Terry was predeceased by his sister Mary Agnes Lemrow and Sherry Wise.
Survivors include his loving children, daughters Amy(Dan) Estill of Stillwater and Beth(Keith) McBride of Schaghticoke, son Todd(Sarah) McDonald of Round Lake, grandchildren Madree and Kennedy McBride, Isabella and Samuel Estill, brother Larry(Janice) McDonald, brothers in law Donald Wise and Tom Lemrow, Sr, sister in law Cathy(Frank) Sgambati. Nieces and nephews: Dan and Greg McDonald, Margaret Walsh, Thomas Lemrow Jr, Nicole, Colleen and Mike Wise, Megan Olmsted, Scott, Frank and Christy Sgambati.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-4PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville, NY 12118. A Funeral Home Service on Monday at 10:30AM will be followed by Military Honors and burial at 12:00PM at the Saratoga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the American Legion Post 490, 1 American Legion Rd, Stillwater, NY 12170 in memory of Terry McDonald.
