Obituary for Peter V. Enzien Sr.
MECHANICVILLE - Peter V. Enzien, Sr., 79 of So. Main St., died Friday, December 30th at Saratoga Hospital after an extended illness.
Born in Troy, July 27, 1943, son of the late Francis and Rose (Gargiulo) Enzien, Pete was a 1961 graduate of Mechanicville High School, and Hudson Valley Comm College.
Pete spent his early years running Enzien’s Pharmacy for his father and mother. He then was a sales rep for several companies such as State Line Foods and Wise Chip Co. for many years, retiring in 2005.
Pete and his wife loyally attended all their kids and grandkids school and athletic events. Grandchildren have been the highlight of both grandparents lives.
Pete enjoyed vacationing with his family in Florida. He also loved cooking for his family and celebrating together as often as possible. He was a NY Yankee and Giants fan, as well as the Boston Celtics.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Agnes “Jane” DiNallo Enzien, whom he married April 8, 1967, three beloved children: Peter (Betsey) Enzien, Jr., Dr. Petra (Ray) Enzien-Price and Patrice (Ernie) Zecca all of Mechanicville. Eight adored grandchildren: Hollis (Chris King) Zecca, Aubrie and Alydia Zecca, Peter III, Olyvia and Michael Enzien, Adrianna Price and Ella Zecca. A loyal brother Frank (Rosemarie) Enzien of Clifton Park. Faithful DiNallo in-laws Dom and Diane, Vince and Dana, Shirley DiNallo and Diane and Dave Regis, along with a number of nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, predeceased by his in-law parents Bernard and Angelina DiNallo and brother in law Michael DiNallo.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wed, Jan 4th at 2 PM at All Saints on the Hudson Church (St. Paul’s) Mechanicville, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the Mass from 1 PM till 2 PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Peter V. Enzien, Sr.
