Obituary for James T. "Jimmy" Bryant

SCHAGHTICOKE - James T. Bryant III (Jimmy), 68, passed away at Samaritan Hospital on Saturday, December 24, 2022 after a brief illness. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late James and Joan Bryant. A talented musician, many may remember Jimmy as the guitarist in the bands “The Brass Rail”, “Illusion” and “Glass Harbor” that played locally in Cohoes in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Jimmy also worked as a repairman for Albany Management for many years. He was considered a “jack of all trades”, able to fix anything that was broken, and always willing to help those in need.

Survivors include his companion Debb Story and his children, Aliza (Chet) Davis, Adam Derepentigny, Aaron (Adrienne) Derepentigny, Alex (Abbey) Derepentigny, Aric Bryant, Austin Bryant, Jonathan Bryant, and Alexis Bryant. He is also survived by his siblings Dennis Bryant, Debra Bryant Prudhomme, and Mary Ellen Bryant Beagle, and several stepbrothers and stepsisters.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 6th from 5-7PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Jimmy’s name may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
