Obituary for Carole Ann McBride (Muckle)

HALFMOON - Carole Ann McBride (Muckle), 85, went to be with our Lord on Friday, December 23, 2022, Born on February 26, 1937, in Troy, NY. Carole was the daughter of the late Hubert H. Muckle and Helen (Malinowski) Muckle. She was known for her warm and welcoming personality, always putting others before herself and going out of the way to help those in need. Carole married David Valentino and together they had a daughter (Cathy) before David’s passing. Carole met Roland Morand and his daughter Carol. They married and moved to Halfmoon, NY and together they had three sons and a daughter (Michael, Joseph, Mark and Patricia). While raising her children, Carole volunteered in the Clifton Park Halfmoon Emergency Corps and rose to the rank of Captain. Carole also volunteered in the Waterford-Halfmoon Fire Dept. as well as the Hillcrest Fire Dept. and was the first woman to win the “Fireman of the Year” award, and was damn proud of it(since renamed to Firefighter of the Year). While volunteering her time at the American Legion Post 1450 in Halfmoon, Carole met Joseph McBride Sr, his children Sharon Phelps, Diane (Michael) Root, James (Bev) McBride, Mary (Dr. Dominick) Belmonte, Joseph McBride Jr., Patricia (Mathew) Root. Carole and Joe “Pops” were married for 34 years and enjoyed life, dancing, traveling, gardening, painting signs and hosting her annual New Year’s Day parties. Carole was elected Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Halfmoon and loved interacting with the residents. In addition to her parents, Carole was predeceased by her brothers Hubert J. Muckle, Thomas Muckle, Joseph Muckle, sister Connie Whinnery and Ann Treffiletti. Survivors in addition to her sister Theresa Ohler, include her husband Joseph McBride Sr. , her children Carol (David) Boisclair, Cathy (Gary) O’Brien, Michael (Sharon) Morand, Joseph René Morand II, Mark (Suzanne) Morand, Patricia (Scott) Seymour, Joe’s children and their families, as well as many grand, great, and great great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 27th at All Saints on the Hudson Church(St. Paul’s), 121 N Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118 from 4 - 6PM. A funeral service will follow beginning at 6PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Legion, Post 1450, 275 Grooms Rd, Clifton Park, NY 12065 in memory of Carole Ann McBride.
