Obituary for Sharon A. Rich (Barbolt)
STILLWATER - Sharon A. Rich, 75, lifelong resident of Stillwater, died peacefully in the comfort of her home on December 7, 2022, after a long battle with cancer, in the company of her loving family. Born in Troy on August 16, 1947, daughter of the late Leo and Dorothy Poraski Barbolt, she was a 1965 graduate of Stillwater High School.
Sharon most recently worked at Stillwater Central Schools, as a secretary in the guidance office. She enjoyed cooking, camping, and adored her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, sisters and their families all meant the world to her.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Michael “Mick” Rich, whom she married on July 15, 1967, her sons; Jason and his wife Miriam of Stillwater and Jeromy Rich of Saratoga Springs, grandchildren Skyler and Juneau Rich, sister Anita(Tad) Baisley, in laws Joan Cummings and Jack(Sharon) Rich, and several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister Lisa Prosser.
Her husband Mike would like to recognize his boys and Anita and Tad for the outpouring of care, love and time given to Sharon during her toughest times. Also special thanks to the Drs and staff of NYOH for the exemplary care given to her.
An hour of gathering for family and friends starting at 11AM will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17th at All Saints on the Hudson Church(St. Peter’s), 895 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater, NY 12170. A Funeral Mass will begin immediately after the calling hours, at Noon. A private interment service at Saratoga National Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S Manning Blvd, Albany, NY 12208 or American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Ln, Latham, NY 12110.
