Obituary for Michael L. Salvi

AVERILL PARK - Michael L. Salvi, 65, died peacefully in the comfort of his home on December 3, 2022, after a brief illness. Born in Troy on August 3, 1957, son of the late Nicholas and Roberta Wilcox Salvi, he was a Troy High School graduate.
Michael completed the BOCES training program in welding and after holding a job with the Emma Willard School for several years, he worked for Wastequip, in New Lebanon, where he was a welder/painter, retiring in the early 2000’s. He was a longtime member of the Stephentown Rod & Gun Club who enjoyed hunting and fishing. A true “jack of all trades”, he was also very giving person, donating to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital whenever he was able. At home, he loved the company of his dogs, Crackers, and Brandy, who predeceased him, and most recently Beamer.
Survivors include his brothers Nicholas(Cindy), Wilbur, John, Keith, and Charles Salvi, and sisters Madeline(Richard) Pier, Joyce Raymond, Alta Warzala, and Denise Valdeon.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Dennis, Kenneth, and Dominick Salvi.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, at 11AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tibbits Ave, Troy, NY. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive by 10:45AM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Michael Salvi.
