Obituary for John J. Enzogna
MECHANICVILLE - John J. Enzogna, 74, of N Third Ave, died suddenly at Samaritan Hospital on November 15, 2022, after being stricken at his home the night before. Born in Troy on August 21, 1948, son of the late James and Kathryn Anatriello Enzogna, he was a 1966 graduate of Mechanicville High School and later earned an Associate’s Degree at HVCC.
John worked as a retail shoe salesman for most of his career, working for various companies until he retired in 2010.
A former member of the Hillcrest Fire Department, John enjoyed reading, shooting ranges, and was a history buff that had strong political views. He was also a huge fan of WWF/WWE wrestling and an animal lover who enjoyed the company of his cats.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Antoinette Visci Enzogna, whom he married on October 6, 1979, his son and his wife James G. and Christine Enzogna of Stamford, CT, his sister-in-law Mary Cassidy of Albany, along with his nephews, cousins and their families.
Calling hours at All Saints on the Hudson(St. Paul’s Church), 121 N Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118 on Friday, November 18, from 11AM - 1PM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial starting at 1PM. Burial in the family plot at St. Paul’s Cemetery to follow.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of John J. Enzogna.
