Obituary for Carolyn N. Aldrich (Kalbaugh)
SCHAGHTICOKE - Carolyn N. Aldrich, 96, of Howland Ave Ext., died peacefully in the comfort of her home, on Thursday, September 29, 2022 in the company of her loving family. Born in Mechanicville on December 11, 1925, daughter of the late Aubrey and Irene Smith Kalbaugh, she as a Mechanicville High School graduate.
Carolyn had worked for National Cash in her younger years and then for D.A. Collins Construction Co for over 25 years before retiring.
She was an avid reader and a great seamstress, often fashionably dressed in clothes she made herself. She was a longtime member of St. George’s Episcopal Church.
Carolyn was predeceased by her husband Donald “Porky” Aldrich, son Victor “Donny” Aldrich, and grandson Lawrence C. Aldrich, Jr.
Survivors include her son Lawrence(Deborah) Aldrich Sr, as well as grandchildren Jessica, Shane, and Dana Aldrich, several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Hudson View Cemetery today, Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 1:30PM. Friends and relatives wishing to attend should arrive at cemetery at 1:15PM. There will be no calling hours. Those wishing to remember Carolyn in a special way are asked to make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in her memory.
