Obituary for Louis Anthony Funaro

MECHANICVILLE - Louis A. Funaro, 40, longtime resident of Mechanicville, died suddenly on September 16, 2022, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in Columbus, OH, son of Anthony Funaro and Jacqueline Vannucci Falvo, he was a 2000 graduate of Mechanicville High School.
Lou was a standout high school football player at Mechanicville, mostly known for his toughness and for being a loyal teammate. He worked in the paving business for most of his adult life, both here in New York and also in Florida. He was currently working for J Hunziker Paving, Rensselaer, but had worked for himself as well as other various local companies. Lou lived his life to the fullest, living each day like it was his last. As big and tough as he was, Louie will always be remembered for having a big heart, and as a loving son, brother, uncle and nephew. He had a special bond with his nephews and loved Sunday family dinners.

Survivors include his father Anthony and wife Tamika Funaro, mother Jacqueline and husband Anthony Falvo, siblings, Samantha(Anthony) Colangione, Matthew(Dasha) Funaro, and Josie(Gary) Aldrich, nephews Easton and Travis Colangione, niece Ezmeray Randolph, step siblings Dylan and Alexis Randolph, and Nicolina and Mitchell Falvo, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and their families.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 21st from 5-7PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville. A private funeral service will be held for his family.
